Neri Naig’s camp welcomed the court’s decision to order the release of the actress after granting their motion to quash her warrant of arrest.

In a statement on Wednesday, Naig’s legal counsel Atty. Aureli Sinsuat said the case filed against her will be reinvestigated by the Office of the City Prosecutor.

Naig’s camp previously said the actress was not notified earlier about the allegations against her, which would have given them a chance to properly explain their side before it reached the court.

“We appreciate the Court’s decision, which underscores Neri’s constitutional right to due process. The reinvestigation will provide an opportunity for Neri to respond to the allegations against her,” Sinsuat said.

“We are hopeful that the reinvestigation will clear Neri of any wrongdoing in the Dermacare/Beyond Skin Care Solutions case.”

Naig was arrested on November 23 for alleged violation of the Securities Regulation Code and syndicated estafa.

The actress was an endorser and franchisee of Dermacare, which is also facing a case for alleged violation of the Securities Regulation Code.

In September 2023, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released an advisory against the company, saying that it is not authorized to solicit investments because it is not registered and has no license to sell securities.

The commission also said that salesmen, brokers, dealers, agents, promoters, influencers, and endorsers of Dermacare may be sued.

On September 1, 2023, Naig announced on social media that she is no longer affiliated with Dermacare and any transaction using her name is not authorized or was done without her permission.

Following her arrest, Naig was detained at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory. She is currently at an undisclosed hospital for medical evaluation.

She was originally scheduled to be returned to her detention cell on Wednesday. However, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology said she will no longer be brought back to the Pasay City Jail after the court order for her release.
